Message
from the Congress Presidents
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of the Society and the Local Organizing Committee it is our
great pleasure to invite you to the XXII Congress and the 55th Meeting
of the Scientific and Standardization Committee of the International
Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis, to be held in Boston July 11-
16, 2009.
Our Scientific Program Committee, with advice from a diverse
International Scientific Advisory Board, has assembled an excellent program of invited speakers to address topics in both clinical and basic
science, across a broad spectrum of interests. For the first time, the Congress will include an Education Program, organized jointly by the
Congress and the Scientific and Standardization Committee, before the formal start of the Congress to provide attendees an opportunity to
broaden and deepen their knowledge of thrombosis and hemostasis.
Summer is a beautiful time to visit Boston, a city of history most
certainly, but also of innovation, academics, business, culture, sports, and entertainment. In keeping with New England’s maritime tradition,
Boston will be hosting Tall Ships from around the world July 8-11, 2009. From the historic neighborhoods of Beacon Hill and the North
End, to the many museums and cultural attractions, from Fenway Park (home of the Boston Red Sox) to the ivy covered halls of Harvard, there
is something for everyone who visits. We have arranged a full and varied program of social events and excursions to take advantage of
the many attractions the region has to offer.
Please join us in Boston for the opportunity to participate in an excellent
scientific program and exciting social events with colleagues from
around the world.
