Message
from the Scientific Program Committee Chairpersons
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
The Scientific Program Committee is finalizing an exciting roster of speakers for Plenary, State of the Art, and Symposia lectures. We have balanced the program among six disciplines, and included both clinical
and basic science topics throughout. Our invited speakers represent the great breadth and depth of this field, from well-known leaders to emerging
young scientists and clinicians.
We will be presenting some new programmatic elements this year. In
addition to the traditional Oral Communications, Abstract Symposia will include an invited speaker and several abstracts on a related theme. Some of the most outstanding Abstracts will be showcased in a special
Presidential Plenary Abstract session on Tuesday. So there is ample opportunity for us to hear some exciting new voices in these sessions, and
we look forward to robust participation in the Abstract Submission process, which opens October 31, 2008 and closes February 6, 2009.
The success of each Congress is measured first and foremost by the
quality of the scientific program, and we are grateful to our dedicated Subcommittee Chairs and Members for their hard work in developing the
speaking program, and to our distinguished International Scientific Advisory Board for their input. We look forward to your participation in an
exciting program in Boston in July, 2009.
